TRI COUNTY REPORT FOR OCTOBER 24TH, 2022

A Butler County resident pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.  The announcement was made by U.S. District  Attorney Cindy Chung last week in Pittsburgh.   47 year old Daniel Dellich Jr., formerly of Boyers pleaded guilty to one count. Authorities said between March and August of 2021 Dellich used Facebook messenger to negotiate the sale of methamphetamine.  Dellich faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of one million dollars. Sentencing has been set for February of 2023.

A Sunday afternoon plane crash in Lordstown Ohio sent two people to the hospital.  Authorities report that  Gerald Rhinehart Jr. and his son, Benjamin Rhinehart, were aboard a small aircraft when, during its takeoff, the plane hit a pasture and a fence before catching fire.  Both Rhineharts escaped the aircraft and suffered non life-threatening injuries.  The accident is under investigation.

State Police in Mercer County are investigating after a tractor-trailer overturned along a ramp at Interstates 80 and 79. The truck flipped over onto its side in Findley Township at around 4:30 a.m. on Friday as it was traveling from Interstate 80 westbound to Interstate 79 southbound. A rescue squad was called, but the driver was able to get out of the cab on his own.  No other details were released.

A state legislative committee has advanced the sale of land from a former state hospital site in Allentown for five-and-a-half million-dollars. The conveyance recommendation for the 195-acre site was approved by the Senate State Government Committee last week.  The measure for the Center Investment Corporation to buy the land still needs approval from the full senate, house and governor.
