On Monday, Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court refused a request by Governor Tom Wolf to expedite his lawsuit against the General Assembly in regards to a proposed amendment to the Pennsylvania State Constitution. Governor Wolf filed a suit against the assembly in July in an effort to stimmy a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would declare Pennsylvania recognizes no right to an abortion. The Governor’s arguments included a procedural complaint, as the amendment was one of five proposed on a single bill which he said is unconstitutional; he also argues that Pennsylvania recognizes privacy as a right, and access to medical procedures is covered under a right to privacy. With the rejection of his expedited suit it will have to go through lower courts first.
