Two women were hospitalized after a two car collision near Springboro on Sunday; both of them were women over 60. Crash scene investigators say 65-year-old Marchelle Delissio ignored signals to stop at the intersection between Springboro and North Hickernell roads in Spring Township and then collided almost dead center with another vehicle driven by a 60-year-old woman. Delissio was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and the driver she hit was also hospitalized with injuries of unknown severity. A passenger in Delisio’s car suffered some minor injuries but was not given medical transport from the crash scene.

It is believed by the State Police in Warren County that someone deliberately sabotaged the brake lines of a Jeep Patriot belonging to a 24-year-old woman. The vehicle was parked overnight in Pleasant Valley Mobile Home Park on Wednesday, August 17th; anybody with information should call (814)728-3600.

Members of the largest nurses union in the state, SEIU Healthcare PA, are set to begin a strike on September 2nd, claiming that the three largest nursing home companies in the state are subjecting them to unfair treatment and not negotiating contracts in good faith. The strikes would affect more than two dozen homes run by Guardian, Priority, and Comprehensive Healthcare companies.
