A 51-year-old man was arrested for car theft in Venango County last week. Jesse Armstrong of Emlenton is accused of stealing a gray Nissan Altima from a 72-year-old woman last Monday and was arrested in possession of the vehicle on Tuesday. At press time, Armstrong was still in Venango County Jail on charges of theft by unlawful taking, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and more.

PennDOT has announced intermittent closures of Route 3011 to through traffic in part of Mercer County to complete pipe replacements beneath the road surface. Closures will happen between Valley View Drive in Wilmington Township to Frampton Road in the City of Hermitage from today until August 25th. PennDOT work schedules for Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties can be found online at PennDOT.gov/District1.
