Two members of the Amish community were injured in Crawford County when they lost control of their horse and buggy. Daniel and Rosemary Schwartz were both taken to Meadville Medical Center for injuries they sustained when their buggy overturned in Beaver Township on Sunday afternoon. According to investigators the bit that allows the reins to steer the horse broke and when Mr. Schwartz jumped on the horse’s back to make a repair, the animal panicked and bucked him off before galloping away and overturning their cart. 
In Sparta Township a 16-year-old member of the Amish community was recently charged for underage drinking, he was picked up from the side of the road and taken home while police investigated reports of rowdy Amish throwing beer cans at vehicles and people and hanging off the sides of buggies.

In State News, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for virtually the entirety of Pennsylvania through Sunday. The Department of Environmental Protection has also issued an air quality alert due to pollen and pollutants; it is recommended that due to heat and allergens the elderly and people with respiratory problems spend this coming weekend indoors.
