The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly opened fire on police officers in Erie on June 25th. Shadarryll and Rakeem Jones are both 29-year-old black men from Erie; the two men are believed to be the shooters who opened fire on a marked Pennsylvania State Police Patrol Vehicle at about 1:30AM on Saturday, January 25th. After an exchange of fire with the officer, the suspects fled the scene in a red Mitsubishi Montero Sport and were pursued by Erie Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police until they crashed into a parked vehicle near West 16th and Chestnut Streets and initiated another exchange of fire with officers while escaping on foot; a 9mm pistol with a 50 round drum magazine was located at the scene. Shadarryl Jones and Rakeem Jones are wanted for charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and more and are considered armed and dangerous suspects.
