Two teenagers were hospitalized after a single vehicle crash near Union City. Crash scene investigators say that on Saturday, June 18th, two 17-year-old boys were traveling at a high rate of speed and had to be taken to UPMC Hamot after the driver lost control of their vehicle on a bend along Parker Road causing their car to roll into a deep ditch.

Clarion Hospital awarded seven scholarships to area graduates in 2022. Clarion Hospital Scholarship awardees must be students or graduates of Clarion County high schools with a GPA of at least 3.0, plan to pursue higher education in a medical field, and be accepted into a collegiate health care program. This year’s awardees are Abbey Barron, Nicholas Cherico, Regan Husted, Kaylee LaVan, Dominika Logue, Ryley Pago, and Damon Weaver. Fireflies are Pennsylvania’s state insect and their population has been declining in the commonwealth and across the United States due to light pollution.  This first official week of summer is “Lights out for Lightning Bugs Week”, a simple conservation effort for fireflies; by turning off our outdoor lights at night we can help preserve firefly populations by allowing them to find each other and breed.
