A man named Michael John Wallace Scott was arrested yesterday after a standoff with the Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer County. Scott, allegedly broke into the apartment of a Clark’s Mills man and threatened to kill him, the victim told police Scott was known to possess a weapon and claimed he wanted to commit suicide by cop. Pennsylvania State Troopers evacuated the rest of the building and attempted to negotiate the suspect out of the apartment, but he only surrendered after the arrival of a SERT team. Scott has been charged with burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, and illegal possession of a firearm.

The Office of Pennsylvania’s Attorney General has issued a consumer alert about baby formula scams. Scammers taking advantage of the current product scarcity are setting up false online stores to trick potential victims out of money; if you order formula online be sure to check it comes from a trusted retailer.  If you have been the victim of this or any other online scam file a complaint as soon as possible at attorneygeneral.gov.
