Preliminary results from yesterday’s primary election are in and more than 2.5 million ballots were cast by residents of Pennsylvania yesterday. Results are not yet official and the outcome of some races may be different by the time all results are tabulated.
The winners in the highest-profile race, the one for the United States Senate; Democrat John Fetterman has an insurmountable lead after garnering nearly 59% of the vote in a four-person race; on the Republican side, Dr. Mehmet Oz holds the narrowest of leads over David McCormick – a 0.12% margin of fewer than 2,000 votes.
In the governor’s race, Republican Doug Mastriano is the clear winner with more than 44% of the votes in an eight-person field, while Democrat Josh Shapiro ran unopposed by any but write-in candidates and garnered over a million votes.
For Lt. Governor Republicans have picked Carrie Delrosso who carried nearly 26% of the vote in a crowded nine-person race; Democrat Austin Davis, who ran his campaign alongside Josh Shapiro received almost ⅔ of the votes.
