The 32nd Thurston Classic will see a return to the complete four-day event starting on Thursday, June 16th, and running through Father’s Day. Five events in all are planned to take place at the Robertson Athletic Complex at Allegheny College starting with the Joyce Stevens Night Glow on the 16th, the Ted Watts Hare & Hound race on Friday, two sanctioned races on Saturday, and one more on the morning of Father’s Day. This year’s special guest balloon will be “Neptuno the Seahorse” and as many as 20 balloonists will participate in this year’s events as long as weather permits. Pennsylvania is only six days from the 2022 primary election and after the results of a new poll there may be clear leaders in the Governor’s races leading into next Tuesday. Polling on the Republican Primary shows 25% of respondents support State Senator Doug Mastriano giving him a 10-point lead over the nearest two opponents, former US Representative Lou Barletta and Bill Mcswain, though more than 50% of Republican voters are still undecided. The Republican field is rounded out by David White, Melissa Hart, Nche Zama, Jake Corman, Joe Gale, and Charlies Gerow.
In the Democratic Primary Attorney General, Josh Shapiro is the presumptive nominee; Tega Swann is also running as a Democrat write-in candidate.
