The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2154, representing employees of National Fuel Gas in Northwestern Pennsylvania and Southwestern New York, announced on their website Saturday that members have voted to strike. IBEW has also filed a grievance with the National Labor Relations Board alleging National Fuel has tried to intimidate union members.

Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives is working on a pair of bills to provide emergency funding for avian influenza detection, response, and prevention. The money is meant to be a stopgap until the state budget for 2022-2023 is finalized; it is expected to include more funds to fight Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza. Pennsylvania has the 8th largest poultry industry in the United States, valued at $7.1 billion and employs 26,000 residents.
