In Mercer County a 29 year old woman named Brandi Smith has been charged with assault and other crimes after allegedly attacking the driver of a vehicle she was a passenger in. Smith is accused of breaking the nose of a 29 year old Jamestown man and trying to grab the steering wheel of his vehicle while it was driving and two toddlers and a newborn were in the backseat. The incident happened on Franklin Street in Sandy Lake at about 8PM on Saturday.

Beginning next week on Monday, April 11th, PennDOT will be closing the on and offramps at Exit 9 on Interstate 90 in Erie County in order to finish replacing a bridge that was damaged last year. A detour implementing Route 20, Route 6N, and Route 98 will divert through traffic and the project is expected to end by the beginning of July.

In State News; the Pennsylvania State Senate failed to get enough votes to override Governor Tom Wolf’s veto of a bill that would prevent the commonwealth from joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, but Republican leaders in the legislature say they will fight the RGGI in court. Opponents of joining the RGGI claim it will raise the price of electricity in Pennsylvania and could result in tens of thousands of lost jobs; proponents, including the Governor, say joining RGGI will improve health and environmental impacts for Pennsylvanians.
