The Pennsylvania State Police based in Meadville announced the arrest of the most wanted person in Northwest Pennsylvania yesterday. After crashing a stolen vehicle in Elk Creek Township, Erie County on Sunday, Zachary Thompson was caught by troopers after a short foot pursuit when he was found red-handed attempting to steal a farm truck from a nearby barn. On top of all the other charges leading to his multiple arrest warrants Thompson’s arrangement includes charges of burglary, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, and much more.
Authorities had been searching for Thompson in relation to an alleged crime spree involving multiple vehicle thefts and numerous other crimes; he is now being held in Erie County Prison.

In State news; Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate has dropped another 3/10 of a percentage point to 5.1% which is down more than 2 percentage points from the same time last year. Pennsylvania has added new jobs for 20 consecutive months and has recovered more than 82% of the jobs that were lost during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pennsylvania’s Labor and Industry department expects continued growth in the coming months.
