An Akron Ohio man was arrested in Mercer County for retail theft of thousands of dollars worth of items from clothing stores in Grove City. 50 year old Allen Grier is accused of shoplifting nearly $5,000 worth of merchandise from various shops around Grove City Outlets in amounts that were sometimes in excess of $1,400 dollars. Grier has been lodged in Mercer County Jail.

As long as the weather is permitting PennDOT crews will begin work on the emergency repairs of a damaged culvert that carries Greenlee Road over Elk Creek in Erie County tomorrow. The operation will take place between the intersections with West Welch Road and Hamot Road and will require a detour; the project is expected to be completed by April 8th.

In State News: Two Pennsylvania State Police Troopers and a civilian were killed on Interstate 95 near Philadelphia Monday. Shortly after midnight on Sunday night a southbound car collided with a state police cruiser and pushed it into two troopers and a civilian they were assisting, killing all three. The two troopers have been identified as Martin Mack and Branden Sisca while the pedestrian has not been named. The driver who hit them has also not been named, but she was identified as someone the two officers had pulled over prior to their encounter with the pedestrian.
