The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with PA registration plate ZNZ-1648. The truck along with multiple sets of keys to buildings and other vehicles was stolen from the parking lot of a business on West Central Avenue near Titusville sometime last week between 5PM on Wednesday, March 16th and 8:30AM on Thursday, March 17th. The Meadville-Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce has extended the deadline for nominations for the Diamond Awards and the Governor Raymond P. Schafer Award until this Friday, March 25th. PennDOT has announced that work on a $16 million multiyear paving project on Interstate 79 in Crawford and Erie County will resume by April 4th. In the 2022 portion of the project Lindy Paving of Union City will be milling and paving from mile marker 158 in Cussewago Township, Crawford County to mile marker 165 in Washington Township, Erie County. There will also be work on rest stops and bridges in that area.

Crawford County had an unusually high amount of wildfires in 2021, more than 90% of which were started by human activity. In an effort to combat wildfires this year the Crawford County Department of Public Safety is taking to Facebook to quickly spread information about the fire danger levels in the County. Facebook users can follow the Crawford County PA Department of Public Safety or join the Crawford County Emergency Preparedness and Public Health group for daily updates on when it is or isn’t safe to have fires outdoors.
