During yesterday’s press conference Venango County District Attorney Shawn White announced that there would be no charges filed in the December 12th killing of Peter Benardo Spencer. DA White said that there was sufficient evidence of self-defense that they could not prove murder beyond the shadow of a doubt and would not be filing charges. Peter Spencer was killed at a hunting camp in Rockland Township, Venango County on December 12th; it was said that Spencer had used a hallucinogenic substance before his death and had fired multiple rounds from an AK-47 style rifle before turning it on his friends at the camp. One of the other campers shot him nine times with a handgun.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro has filed legal action against a soil nutrient management firm named “Earthcare & Conservation” which is accused of defrauding farmers. According to the AG’s suit the company’s owner/operator, Diane Comrey, would take payment for work she never completed and refuse to refund her fees which ran upwards of $4,000. Work that was completed, according to Shapiro, was not to the standards of state and federal regulators.
