A police response to a crash scene ended in the arrest of five suspects and the recovery of cocaine, marijuana, and stolen firearms in Mercer County. On Thursday morning Pennsylvania State Police Troopers responded to the scene of a crash on the east lane of Interstate 80 and a witness informed them one of the vehicle’s passengers had made several trips into the woods. A subsequent search using dogs recovered two stolen firearms and some crack cocaine; more drugs were discovered in the vehicle after arrests had been made. Thomas Florez, Noel Hernandez, Angle Mendez, Francisco Silva, and a 16 year old male, all of Chicago were arrested at the scene.

In Crawford County Authorities are searching for a reportedly lost or stolen firearm in Union Township. A 29 year old Meadville resident reported to police that he was unable to locate his missing weapon; a Taurus G3C semi-automatic pistol. The Pennsylvania Lottery is celebrating 50 years of operations and is still the only state lottery whose entire proceeds benefit the elderly. More than $32.5 billion has been raised. The first Pennsylvania Lottery ticket sold for 50 cents on March 7th, 1972 and had a prize of $50,000 and this year the lottery has released a $50 scratch off ticket with a grand prize of $5,000,000.
