The Pennsylvania State Police report that officers shot and killed a man in Clarion County’s Limestone Township. When troopers were dispatched for a welfare check 34 year old Corey Rominski of Summerville barricaded himself inside his home on Lenwood Road and fired several rounds from a shotgun toward officers.  A perimeter was formed and SRT was mobilized, but when officers tried to negotiate Rominski exited the back door of his house and fired several rounds from what was described as an assault style rifle; officers were forced to return fire, killing him. The Pennsylvania State Police Major Case Team, Clarion County Coroner Dan Shingledecker, and Clarion County DA Drew Welsh are investigating the shooting.The initial police call was for a welfare check on Rominski after a friend reported that he told them he was depressed.

Friends and family confirmed over social media that Jeffrey Johnson was found alive late yesterday morning. Jeffrey was alive and unharmed and taken to Meadville Medical Center for an evaluation; he had been missing since Sunday night.

Reactions to Governor Tom Wolf’s Budget proposal are of course different by each political party. House Democratic leader Joanna McClinton says the Governor’s budget will move the state in the right direction; while Senate President and candidate for governor Jake Corman called it unrealistic. Hearings to finalize a budget for FY 2022-2023 start next week.
