The Pennsylvania State Police Barracks in Erie is temporarily closed to the public while extensive repairs are made to the building’s heating and cooling system.  The closure will not change or disrupt the work of officers from the PSP, but the public is disallowed in the building and is asked to conduct any in person business in Meadville, Corry, or Girard.

Cost free Walk-Up COVID-19 testing in Venango County opens today and runs until Saturday February 12th.  No appointment is necessary to get a free PCR test at 737 Elk Street in Franklin, at the Corner of 8th and Elk. Testing will be from 9AM to 6PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and from 10AM on Thursday; Saturday is from 9AM to 2PM. Parking can be accessed from 8th street.

The Pennsylvania Senate Law and Justice Committee recently held a hearing with law enforcement on the potential legalization of recreational marijuana for adults. Warren County DA Robert Greene was in attendance, he signaled his support for future legalization by stating that he and the majority of law enforcement would rather go after dangerous drugs, while York County DA talked about the links between violent crime and marijuana.
