According to the National Weather Service Winter Storm Izzy will continue to dump snow across the state of Pennsylvania and our region of Northwest Pennsylvania will catch the worst of the snowfall. Locally about seven inches have fallen in some areas as of press time. While the snow falls PennDOT and municipal plow crews are primarily focused on keeping roads and highways passable multiple restrictions are in place on Interstates 76, 79, 80, 86, 90, and 376 including speed limits reduced to 45 miles per hour; commercial vehicles are restricted to only traveling in the right lane and may not travel with an empty cargo trailer or container while tow behind trailers of all types are not permitted for all non-commercial vehicles; school buses, travel buses, RV/motor homes, and motor coaches are banned unless equipped with chains or approved alternate traction devices; motorcycles are banned from all travel on the interstate.
