Officials in Erie County report a fatal car crash on Flatts Road in Waterford Township on Tuesday Night. Just before 10PM last night Ryan Harding of Waterford suffered fatal injuries after failing to make a right turn and colliding with an embankment; his Chrysler Sebring went airborne, landed, and rolled twice; ejecting him from the vehicle. Crash scene investigators say Harding was traveling at excessive speeds and not wearing a seatbelt.

Jaime Kinder and the City of Meadville find themselves in good company with other Pennsylvania cities swearing African-American women as mayor. Gettysburg Pennsylvania swore in its first African-American woman Rita Frealing as its mayor on Monday and our state capitol in Harrisburg swore in Rhonda Williams as its second female and African American Mayor. In Bethlehem Matt Tuerk became the city’s first Latino mayor.

The Pennsylvania State Senate selected Jake Corman to serve as President Pro-Tempore for another year yesterday; he has held that position since 2020. Corman’s nomination was seconded by the Minority Leader, Jay Costa. Corman announced last year that he will not be seeking another senate term and declared his candidacy for governor in a packed republican primary.
