The Pennsylvania State Police based in Venango County released the details about a fatal car crash which happened on Thursday December 9th. 50 year old Melissa Garland of Titusville was ejected through the driver side door of her Subaru Outback and fatally injured when she collided with another vehicle at about 5:30AM while driving down 15th street outside Franklin. According to witnesses, she lost control of her vehicle around a curve and fishtailed into the opposing lane of traffic and collided with an International Harvester truck.

Meadville Medical Center’s next COVID-19 vaccine clinic is scheduled for Tuesday, December 28th at the old Meadville City Building on 984 Water Street in Meadville. The clinic will provide Pfizer vaccine boosters for adults and first and second doses for any adults or children at least 5 years of age. In an effort to combat a shortage of substitute teachers across the State, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed a new law allowing retired teachers to work as substitutes and making other reforms such as removing the cap on the number of days a teacher can sub for a class, establish a day to day classroom monitor permit program, and extending the number of days a substitute can work in a single school year.
