The Pennsylvania State Police based in Franklin are reporting the Tuesday morning arrest of a 33 year old Kennerdell man whose identity was being concealed after he allegedly brandished a knife to threaten his own mother. When troopers arrived on the scene he had fled into the woods nearby, but was arrested shortly after 8AM and a search of his mother’s home yielded what were identified as two explosive devices. Court documents identify him as Kenneth Sterner, who is being lodged without bail in Venango County Jail.

In Crawford County, elections have still not been certified after 10 days as officials continue to count about 10,000 write-ins that were submitted on November 2nd. In Meadville, Democrat Jaime Kinder now has a narrow 134 vote lead in the mayoral race over write-in candidates after mail-in ballots were counted; the majority, but not all, the write-in ballots have thus far been tabulated for Marcy Kantz.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reports that over 20,000 children from 5 to 11 years old have received their first COVID-19 vaccination dose since it was approved by the FDA and CDC last week. 73% of Pennsylvania’s adults are now fully vaccinated against the disease, but many counties still lag behind; Crawford, Venango, and Clarion Counties were once among the leaders in vaccine distribution, but they plateaued at around 40% vaccination rates.
