Authorities in Venango County have one suspect in custody after an armed robbery at a tobacco shop in Cranberry Township. At press time the Pennsylvania State Police have only revealed them as a white male. On Thursday, October 14th the suspect allegedly entered the store and demanded money while displaying a long gun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

PennDOT has wrapped up the first year of a major paving project along Interstate 79 in Crawford and Erie Counties. Lindy Paving of Union City paved both the north and south lanes of the interstate over a five mile stretch between Hayfield and Cussewago Townships in Crawford County this year. The project continues in April 2022 with a six mile stretch of highway, but PennDOTs paving season has ended for 2021.

Today is the last day for Pennsylvania residents to register to vote ahead of the 2021 municipal elections which take place on November 2nd. Today also marks eight days left to apply for a mail-in ballot; those ballots are due no later than when polls close on election day.
