A portion of Route 8 between Old Route 8 and Georgetown Road will be closed beginning today, as contractors for PennDOT begin work to restore a bridge which carries Route 8 over Georgetown Road in Irwin Township. A full work schedule for the week of October 4th in Crawford, Erie, Warren, Mercer, Venango, and forest counties can be found under Maintenance and Traffic Bulletins at PennDOT.gov/District1; Clarion County is in District 10.

Did you know that replacements for illegible PA license plates are free of cost? State Rep. Donna Oberlander and Clarion County Sheriff Rex Munsee are teaming up in two weeks to help PA residents replace damaged and illegible license plates from 4 to 6PM on Tuesday October 19th. Just pull in to the parking lot of her office on South Second Avenue in Clarion to begin the process and deputies from the Clarion County Sheriff’s department check your plate to see if it needs replaced, staff for Representative Oberlander will help with the paperwork you need to have your license plate replaced by PennDOT.


Pennsylvania State Treasurer Stacy Garrity says that the state is holding on to more than $4 billion worth of unclaimed property. To find out if you have unclaimed property visit patreasury.gov/unclaimed. A new and more efficient system to connect residents with their unclaimed property came into effect in June and helped  return more than $20 million in property in its first month.
