The westbound lane of Interstate 80 was closed for several hours near Clintonville in Venango County while authorities investigated a fatal car crash by mile marker 33. A single vehicle with two occupants collided with a support pillar for an overpass and caught fire, killing everyone involved. The road was closed for nearly seven hours until almost noon while the scene was catalogued and cleaned and PennDOT performed an inspection of the bridge and roadway.

Clarion Hospital’s Vaccine Clinic is now providing COVID-19 vaccine boosters to individuals approved by the FDA and CDC; Meadville Medical Center and Walberg Family Pharmacies are also providing boosters. Boosters are recommended for all healthcare workers, residents of long term care facilities, individuals 65 and older, and anyone between 50 and 64 years old with underlying health conditions; anyone from 18 to 49 with an underlying condition should consult their doctor about a booster.

State Representative Kevin Boyle has a court hearing today where he answers for charges of harassment and violating a protection from abuse order. The democrat who represents Philadelphia and Montgomery counties was stripped of his committee assignments and has limited access in the state capitol. Rep. Boyle has not been charged with any type of physical violence and is voluntarily undergoing mental health evaluations.
