The City of Titusville Police Department announced through a press release that officers are ramping up their drug enforcement efforts and taking a more aggressive approach in dealing with narcotics. In the month of September alone the TPD has made three arrests leading to charges of felony drug possession with intent to deliver, including a raid on an alleged drug manufactory manned by a 60 year old man named Daniel Hawk.

The Pennsylvania House Health Committee has beseeched the Commonwealth Joint Committee on Documents to review the school mask mandate issued by Health Secretary Allison Beam. Health Committee Chair Kathy Rapp does not believe that the Secretary’s order has regulatory power unless there is a declared state of emergency; an emergency declaration for COVID-19 was ended by the legislature by utilizing a new constitutional amendment earlier this year. Secretary Beam issued the order on August 31st after the legislature declined to gather and discuss taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in schools.

Speaking to the House Labor and Industry Committee on Tuesday, Labor and Industry Secretary Jennifer Berrier told lawmakers that her department has doubled its fraud prevention staff in 2021 and has identified nearly 300,000 fraudulent unemployment claims since June. She also says more than half a million legitimate claims have been approved.
