A 14 mile police pursuit ended in a suspect vehicle crashing and an arrest. Details are sparse, but a 44 year old Wattsburg man failed to yield during a traffic stop and instead led police on a chase along Route 6 through Wayne Township in Erie County before crashing his truck and being apprehended.

All of Northwestern Pennsylvania, and virtually all of Pennsylvania, is currently listed by the CDC as an area of High COVID-19 transmission as the Delta Variant tears through most of the country. Only Chester County is without high transmission and is instead listed as substantial. In high and substantial transmission areas it’s recommended to wear a mask in indoor public spaces. About 13,000 new COVID cases were detected across the state over Labor Day Weekend, and 2,000 patients were hospitalized.

The Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission says nearly 68,000 small businesses and 750,000 residences have until the end of this month to make payment arrangements with their electricity providers or face shut offs. PUC Chair Glady’s Brown Dutrielle says the past due is about $754 million and urges that customers in arrears should contact their electricity provider and start discussing options available to help keep their lights on.
