A 22 year old Oil City resident has been charged with reckless driving after crashing his car while holding a kitten. The driver nearly collided with another vehicle on Halyday Run Road in Oakland Township, Venango County, and ended up overturning in a ditch. The man said he was distracted by a kitten which he was attempting to move to a box from his lap.

Demolition on the bridge carrying Route 18 over interstate 90 in Erie County is underway as of today. The bridge was to be demolished next year, but an impact by an oversized vehicle in August expedited the project to be a year early. A new provision of Pennsylvania’s Sunshine Law, which helps create a more transparent government, comes into effect today. All government agencies must publish an agenda no less than 24 hours in advance of a meeting unless there is an emergency. It also prohibits any agency from taking any action on an item that is not on the published agenda.
