A single car crash on Interstate 79 took the life of a 51 year old man in Jackson Township Mercer County. Crash scene investigators report that Paul Molloy was killed yesterday when his car lost traction on rain slicked roads and slid for at least 150 feet before impacting multiple trees.

In just over one week Edinboro University’s Highland Games and Scottish Festival returns to the campus after a one year pandemic induced hiatus. The games celebrate the culture of the school’s founders and its ongoing connection to the history and traditions of Scotland. The festival begins with the single malt whiskey tasting event on Friday, September 10th with the games taking place on the 11th.

The remnants of tropical storm Ida passed through most of the state yesterday and authorities are beginning the work of taking stock of the damage caused by the storm. Ida dumped as many as 10 inches of rain in some areas and spawned at least a few tornadoes, causing flooding, landslides, and further damage.
