Pennsylvania State Senator Doug Mastriano is no longer chairman of the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee after the President Pro Tempore stripped him of his rank on Monday. The Senate Clerk read a proclamation from Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman that stated Senator Mastriano was being removed as chairman of the committee and being replaced by fellow Republican Chris Dush; Senator Mastriano will remain on the committee as a normal member. The demotion comes after the senator continued to insist on an Arizona style style audit of the 2020 election and continued to make a unilateral attempt at subpoenaing three of Pennsylvania’s largest counties for their voting records despite objections from his own party’s leadership.
