Venango County authorities released details on their second fatal car crash in a week. 34 year old Mark King of Oil City died on Monday when his car overturned on Halyday Run Road in Cornplanter Township. Crash scene investigators say he was traveling south when his vehicle drifted through the northbound lane, struck a utility pole, spun 180 degrees, hit a tree, and rolled onto its roof.


The depression left over from Tropical Storm Fred has hit Pennsylvania and is expected to cause heavy rain that has put almost the entire commonwealth under flash flood watches and warnings. Locally the National Weather Service says we can expect up to two inches of rain in Northwestern Pennsylvania and has issued flash flood watches for Crawford County from 8AM to 4PM; and Venango, Forest, and Clarion Counties from 5AM until 8PM tonight.


In State News; Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection has fined Sunoco for several fluid leaks related to the construction of the Mariner East-2 Pipeline. The leaks happened in four different counties; Blair, Juniata, Cumberland, and Lebanon and Sonoco has been issued fines totaling $86,000 to help pay for cleanup. They also owe a fine of $12,000 to the Fish and Boat Commission.
