23 year old William Hoston of Erie is in the custody of the Pennsylvania State Police after an insane vehicle and foot pursuit on Friday. Houston fled from troopers based in Girard when they tried to issue a citation on Interstate 79 and lead police on a chase into the City of Erie. His vehicle was hit by two others when he tried to cross a red light at the intersection of West 12th Street and Greengarden Road. He fled on foot and then fell into a 30 foot deep ravine during an attempt to hide from the authorities and needed to be rescued by firefighters.

 

PennDOT workers closed a section of South Main Street in Union City yesterday so that the Western New York and Pennsylvania Railroad can perform maintenance on a railroad crossing. The rest of PennDOT’s maintenance schedule for the region can be found at PennDOT.gov./district1.

 

In State News, Donald Meshy Jr. of Lancaster was arrested by police after he showed them the severed head of his murdered father. The younger Meshy led the officers into his home and pulled the head from his refrigerator. He is accused of murdering his father by stabbing him multiple times and then dismembering the body and placing his body parts in garbage bags which were hidden all over his home and property.
