The City of Franklin Police Department has issued a warrant for the arrest of Jacob Orf of Polk after he fled from a traffic stop on the morning of Thursday, August 5th. He fled from police with two passengers in his vehicle and abandoned his car and passengers behind a grocery store as he fled on foot along Hillside Avenue. The warrant is for Fleeing and attempting to elude an officer, two charges each of unlawful restraint and reckless endangerment, and multiple summary offenses.  If you know the whereabouts of Jacob Orf, call the Franklin Police Department at (814)437-1644 or your local law enforcement.


A big weekend in Meadville as Thunder in the City returns to downtown and Diamond Park tomorrow for one day only. Meadville will also host a car cruise-in at Lang Motors and the First Friday community market tonight. Thunder starts at 8AM tomorrow as classic cars surround the Diamond and is scheduled to last well into the night, with motorcycle runs, a RoboBots demonstration, belly dancing, plenty of food, live music until 9:30 at night, and lots more.


Penn State University has issued a mandatory mask mandate for all students, staff and visitors on campus for the fall semester, a policy likely to be adopted by institutions around the commonwealth. PSU’s mask policy requires everyone to wear a mask when in common areas, at indoor events, and while attending classes. Their policy will also require anybody who isn’t vaccinated against COVID-19 by Monday, August 9th, to be tested for COVID-19.
