Police say an Emlenton man without a motorcycle certification on his license was severely injured when he crashed a motorcycle. According to crash scene investigators the man encountered a sharp turn on Rockville and Nickleville Road, which he was unable to navigate, was unable to brake in time to avoid leaving the road, and then collided with a tree. He was not wearing a helmet or other safety gear and was airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

 

When talking about infrastructure, they say whenever one bridge opens another closes. The Route 215 bridge which crosses Interstate-90 is reconstructed after being out of commission for over a year when it was damaged by a collision with heavy machinery; now the McKee Road Bridge which passes over the interstate near mile marker 5 will be closed for repairs. A man who admitted killing his parents opened fire at police before apparently taking his own life near Pittsburgh. According to Authorities in Allegheny County a Mount Lebanon man who is now identified as George Tratas ambushed police officers shortly after midnight on Thursday after calling to say he wanted to turn himself in for the murder of his parents. He injured two officers and managed to flee in a car a short distance before he was found dead from what is believed to be a self inflicted wound.
