According to authorities in Mercer County, 17 year old Dylan Emery of Volant was killed and two other teens and one adult male were all hospitalized after an accident on Independence Day weekend. Shortly before 10:30 PM on Saturday July 3rd emergency responders rushed to the scene of a crash on Brent Road in Springfield Township where investigators say that after failing to negotiate a right turn a Chevrolet Equinox collided with a tree and then rolled onto it’s driver’s side. Nobody involved was wearing a seatbelt.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission and Western PA Audubon Society are asking bird lovers to take down their bird feeders and baths as an unidentified and deadly affliction spreads through bird populations of 10 states, including Pennsylvania. Multiple species like grackles, cardinals, wrens, jays, and starlings have been observed with neurological symptoms and developing crusting and lesions around their eyes before dying. Multiple states have agencies working on identifying the culprit.
