Directly from the Pennsylvania State Police: The Pennsylvania State Police are seeking the assistance of the public in locating Tyler Alan Bowen. The PSP Mercer Station holds an active criminal arrest warrant for Bowen for charges including Rape, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Sexual Assault, Sexual Abuse of Children, Statutory Sexual Assault, Obscene and Other Sexual Materials and Performances, and Indecent Assault. Bowen is last known to have been in the NewCastle, PA area. Anyone having information regarding the whereabouts of Bowen is requested to contact Tpr. Craig of the PSP Mercer Station at (724)662-6162.


AAA is expecting this weekend to be a huge travel weekend, possibly the second largest since they began taking records. According to AAA around 47 million Americans including 2 million Pennsylvanians will be traveling for Independence Day. Gas prices are always higher during holidays and AAA estimates the national average at about $3.15 a gallon and Pennsylvania’s average at about $3.20. The average local price ranges from $3.20 to $3.25.


Independence Day Weekend is upon us and Law Enforcement will be focused on keeping our roads and waterways safe from DUI drivers and boaters. Law enforcement agencies are already reporting higher than usual amounts of alcohol related incidents including DUI related crashes and another incident where a 58 year old Centerville man draped in an American flag accosted drivers on Erie Street. Please for the safety of yourselves and others do not drink and drive, and do not drink and handle fireworks.
