The charred remains of three bodies found at home on Sampson Road in Greene Township, Erie County are believed to be the bodies of a murder-suicide-arson crime scene. The three bodies were discovered by Firefighters from the Kuhl Hose Company that responded to a fire at about 2PM Tuesday afternoon. A family member reported the fire when they arrived at the house to find it full of smoke; they were there to check on Richard Zimmer and his children when they didn’t arrive for a custody hearing earlier in the day. Investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police believe that 48 year old Richard Zimmer murdered his 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son with a shotgun before starting several small fires in his house and committing suicide to avoid losing custody of them. The investigation is ongoing.
