In Oakland Township, Venango County the Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the scene of an ATV crash after an Oil City man was found on Davis Road bleeding and with no recollection of what happened. 37 year old Travis Rowland was airlifted to UPMC Hamot under the suspicion of being seriously injured when he was discovered lying in the road 20 feet away from a crashed ATV. Travis says he has no memory of the crash.

 

Local state representative Kathy Rapp’s Lyme Disease Legislation has passed in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the second time. House Bill 1033 would require insurance companies in Pennsylvania to cover the expenses related to treatment of tick borne illnesses like Lyme Disease. Pennsylvania has lead the nation in new cases and total cases of Lyme Disease for the last eight years, with more than 40% of all Lyme disease cases being in the state. A similar bill to HB 1033 passed last session and was reviewed by the Senate Health Committee, but did not get a floor vote.

 

Republicans in Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives voted yesterday to cancel Governor Tom Wolf’s COVID-19 emergency declaration after a party line vote of 113 to 90. After the passage of two constitutional amendments last month republicans have moved quickly to cancel the state of emergency even though the results of May’s election are not yet certified. The resolution is being scheduled for a vote in the Pennsylvania State Senate.
