The top republican in Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives wants to establish a special agency for election audits. On Monday House Speaker Bryan Cutler introduced legislation seeking to create a Pennsylvania Bureau of Election Audits under the office of the Auditor General. The bureau would have the task of performing results confirming audits of each election in the commonwealth by the third Friday after voting.

 

The Pennsylvania State Police are issuing warrants to the social media company SnapChat as part of an investigation into an incident involving an 11 year old Crawford County girl in March. An unidentified person anonymously sent the child nude photographs through the app and authorities seek account data from SnapChat to solve the case.

Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives advanced a package of bills designed to combat human trafficking. Bills in the package include HB 231 allowing expert witnesses to testify in human trafficking cases and HB 246 which would require traffickers who deal with prostitution to register as sex offenders.
