On Friday morning, between 1:45 and 2:30 AM someone fired a gun multiple times at a house on Route 8 in Cornplanter Township. The victims thought someone was setting off fireworks, but found a bullet slug imbedded in a wall in the daylight. The Franklin State Police have recovered numerous shell casings and a bullet slug from the scene and are asking for anyone with information to call (814)676-6596.


Meadville Medical Center has vaccinated 35,500 patients at their vaccine clinics. Their next clinic is Wednesday May 26th at the old Peeble’s Store in Meadville’s Park Avenue Plaza and patients 12 years of age and older can receive their first or second Pfizer vaccine dose. The winner of PennDOT’s 2020-2021 Innovations Challenge is Lower Moreland High School of Montgomery County. Their winning idea was to use piezoelectric plates in high travel areas to generate electricity which could be used to power the transportation grid and be sold by the state for money.
