The Pennsylvania State Police report that troopers from their Corry Barracks discharged their weapons while serving a felony warrant with the United States Marshals at Union City Dam. Officers and Marshals were attempting to arrest Justin Kebort of Erie for armed robbery and other crimes when the shots were fired, and nobody was struck by the gunfire. Kebort and two other suspects were apprehended near a Moose lodge after a short pursuit, authorities used stop sticks and a PIT maneuver to disable a vehicle they fled in.

Preliminary results from Tuesday’s primary indicate all four ballot initiatives were approved by their referendums. Two constitutional amendments essentially diverting power to direct a state of emergency to the General Assembly were approved by around 53% of voters, while more than 70% of voters approved of outlawing descrimination by race or ethnicity and allowing paid EMS and fire companies to apply for loans currently only available to volunteer companies. Less than a third of Pennsylvania’s 9 million registered voters participated in the election. More results can be found at electionreturns.pa.gov.
