The Pennsylvania State Police is reminding everyone to lock their vehicles and outbuildings after a string of Burglaries in Crawford and Erie Counties. One or more burglars have been active in the areas around Spartansburg and Union City over the past week and have been entering unlocked sheds, garages, and vehicles to take anything that may be of value. Items stolen over the last week include, but are by no means limited to, cash money, credit cards, medication, and even firearms including several shotguns and an AR-15.

 

Rolling nighttime closures of Interstate 90 in Erie County are planned this week as PennDOT crews begin laying steel beams for a new bridge and overpass for Route 215. All road maintenance schedules for Northwest Pennsylvania can be found posted online at PennDOT.gov/District1.

 

Today is the final day for everyone who waited for the last minute to file their 2020 income tax information with the IRS and PA Department of Revenue. It was delayed an entire month due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but the time has arrived. Authorities recommend filing electronically if you waited until now.

 

The Pennsylvania State Police based in Franklin are investigating a child pornography case in the Titusville area. Someone photoshopped the face of a nine year old child from the region onto the body of a nude female juvenile and sent the image through Snapchat.

 

Meadville Medical Center is holding one more COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the old Peeble’s store in the Park Avenue Plaza of Meadville this week. This clinic is for the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine is on Wednesday the 19th and is open to anyone aged 12 years and older. Register online at MMCHS.org or call (814)336-1800.

 

The Pennsylvania Senate Judiciary Committee approved a potential Constitutional Amendment that may show up on ballots in 2022. The amendment would make a minor change to the PA Constitution, beginning the terms of the general Assembly on New Year’s Day instead of New Year’s Eve.
