State Senator Christopher Dush is facing backlash for comments made during a hearing of the Senate Appropriations Committee. The Senator compared Pennsylvania nursing homes with COVID outbreaks to death camps and has received sharp criticism from Jewish groups like the Anti-Defamation League and Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition, who are also calling for Senate leadership to take action. Senator Pat Brown, Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, cut off Dush’s line of questioning when he asked the Secretary of Health if her department was saving costs by letting people sickened by COVID-19 die in nursing homes.
