A reminder for all Pennsylvania residents that it is now time to think about removing your studded snow tires from all road legal vehicles. Motorists have 15 days to switch to an appropriate tire type like all weather. Pennsylvania law allows the use of studded tires from November 1st until April the 15th, beyond those dates the use of studded snow tires is a fineable offense.
Pennsylvania’s House Majority Leader, Kerry Benninghoff, issued a statement yesterday saying that Pennsylvania should not follow other states in adopting or developing a so called vaccine passport system. Rep. Benninghoff pointed out that those kinds of policies discriminate against those who can’t receive a vaccine because of their health, or what he called arbitrary vaccine deployment phases, or people who made a personal choice not to get one.
Jennifer Berrier is Pennsylvania’s acting Secretary of Labor and Industry and is calling for a policy direction to adopt one fair minimum wage. A One Fair Minimum Wage policy would mean eliminating the tipped minimum wage affecting servers in restaurants and other jobs that are expected to make most of their pay through tipping. Berrier also spoke in favor of Governor Wolf’s plan to increase the state’s minimum wage.
