The search is on for a missing teenage girl believed to be a runaway. 16 year old Jaylyn Marie Chess left her residence in the Meadville Area to go shopping at the Millcreek Mall in Erie County on Saturday, January 9th and has not been returned home since. Jaylyn is a 16 year old white female with brown hair and blue eyes; she stands about 5’3” tall and weighs about 125 pounds. Jaylyn has piercings in both her ears and nose and is believed to still be in Erie County. In state news the FBI has arrested Riley June Williams of Harrisburg in relation to the riot at the United States Capitol Building on January 6th. Williams allegedly stole a computer from the office of United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and intended to sell it to a friend in Russia who would try to sell it to the Russian Government. The FBI has not stated if they have possession of the computer and so far Williams has only been charged for knowingly entering a restricted area.

 

Authorities in Mercer County have arrested a 45 year old man suspected in the sexual assault of a 13 year old girl in 2005. Authorities say the Jackson Center man stands accused of providing the girl with alcohol before he assaulted her almost 16 years ago.

 

Republican Timothy DeFoor was sworn in yesterday as the first African American to serve as Auditor General in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The 52nd Auditor General was joined at his swearing in ceremony by his predecessor Eugene Depasquale who passed the torch by sharing their mutual love of Star Wars; calling DeFoor a Jedi Knight.

 

President Elect Joe Biden has picked Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine, as a nominee for assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services. If confirmed she would be the first openly transgender official to be confirmed by the US Senate. In a statement Dr. Levine said she looks forward to serving the whole nation as she has Pennsylvania.
