A detour is being set up on Interstate 90 in Erie County by Exit 6 in Springfield Township in order to demolish a bridge that was severely damaged in a collision by an oversized tractor trailer. The bridge carries Route 215 over the Interstate Highway and was already scheduled for demolition and replacement during this year’s construction season. Interstate 90 traffic is directed to use the on and off ramps to continue highway travel or to follow the posted detours to travel Route 215.

 

Oil Creek Titusville Railroad has received $140,000 in grant money for improvements to the attraction’s passing siding. The funds are part of a multimillion dollar effort on part of the Rail Freight and Rail Transportation Assistance Programs of the Pennsylvania State Government.

 

In the wake of rioters breaking into the United States Capitol Building last Wednesday and warnings from the FBI about potential threats to every state capitol, security is being increased at the Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. The Department of General Services is working closely with the state police and federal law enforcement to secure the Capitol Complex in case of violent demonstrations. Pennsylvania has also sent 1,000 members of its National Guard detachment to assist with Inauguration Day security in DC.
