Pennsylvania’s Department of Health says that nearly 300,000 vaccinations against COVID-19 have been given to healthcare workers and nursing home residents and staff since the first shipments of the vaccine arrived last month. The majority of vaccinations are first doses, but over 21,000 doctors and nurses have been fully immunized. Also on the vaccine front Pennsylvania’s House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff sent a letter to Secretary of Health Rachel Levine and Governor Tom Wolf asking that elected officials be removed from a higher vaccine priority and scheduled with the general public in order to better protect the most vulnerable residents of the state. Pennsylvania only received about 827,000 vaccinations for the entire state since they were rolled out by Operation Warp Speed.
