According to Pennsylvania’s Attorney General Josh Shapiro scammers are attempting to take advantage of potential consumers who wish to get vaccinated for COVID-19. Scammers are reaching out to individuals under the guise of representatives from hospitals or insurance companies in an attempt to get personal information or even money from their marks.
Here are a few tips to avoid becoming a victim;
- If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from your insurance company, hang up and call back at the number on your insurance card.
- Always be wary about any unsolicited caller seeking information about your insurance or doctor.
- Scammers will claim they can have your vaccine doses shipped to your home or that they can get you moved further up the list to get an earlier vaccination, both are false.
