A pedestrian was killed during a Friday night traffic accident in Mercer County. According to crash scene investigators 72 year old Audrey Wheeler was walking south in the north lane of a stretch of Route 19 named North Perry Highway in Coolspring Township. Shortly before 8:30 at night she was struck by a northbound motorist who could not see her due to poor lighting conditions and her wearing dark clothes. Audrey was declared dead at the scene and police have no reason to suspect the driver deliberately contributed to the crash.

 

In Venango County, the Sugarcreek Police Department has an outstanding warrant for the arrest of Devon McClelland of 134 Charlton Street in Oil City. The 27 year old McClelland is wanted on charges of drug possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communication facility, and membership in a corrupt organization. In State News one of the first orders of business when the new Pennsylvania State Legislature is sworn in on January 5th will be to discuss a proposal to take $200 million from the Rainy Day Fund to provide grants and cash payments to the owners of bars and restaurants.
